Lord

I just took a look what I've written in the past few months. I think the following picture describes most of it:

Anyways, I'm working on a project. Details soon.

I love Google

Wuala invites

In desperate need of blog traffic (sigh) I realized that I still have 3 invites for Wuala. Post a comment on this post (remember to use your real e-mail) and I'll send an invite your way.

Dear AdSense publisher

Do everybody a favor, and add these URL's to your competitive advert filter:

  • celldorado.com
  • wixawin.com
  • funmobile.com

Why? They're all big scams designed to lure foolish teenagers by promising "a thousand free ringtones" and having some tiny print at the footer of the page telling them that it costs 10 euros a month.

This Finnish television show (link in Finnish) investigated this. Here's a small translated excerpt from the article:

13 year old Amanda Kujo's cell phone rang last month. A text message promised a free ringtone. When ordering the "free product", she actually subscribed to paid phone entertainment, even though the text message didn't tell this.

This is even worse. Marketing their products with text messages is just evil.

The article specifically mentions the three companies midway through. Unless you're some evil prick that wants to monetize his site in any way possible, please follow my advice.

I liked AdSense when it wasn't full of junk.

Firefox

Firefox.

First all the mail in Thunderbird (that was via POP3, not IMAP, which on default doesn't leave the mail on the server), now over 500 passwords.

Way to go, Firefox.

Foxit Reader

Upon being tired of Acrobat (do they call it that anymore), I decided to switch to Foxit Reader (which I had heard good things about). I started to get some doubts after seeing its installer, though:

srsly guys

It looks like it came from Windows 3.1 and had some half-cool logo slapped to the left on the way. White background? Check. Awful bold font? Check. Even more awfully placed text? Check. Slight Engrish? Check.

This isn't the way to go, guys.

Windows Programming, pt. 2

God I hate designing user interfaces. I'm working on myWorkTimer 1.1 (I don't know why, I'm probably the only person using it), which will feature the following (and maybe more):

WLM blocks YouTube

...Way to go, Microsoft. This is starting to get ridiculous. Too bad my friends are all too arrogant to switch to Google Talk/Jabber.

Windows Live Messenger: YouTube.com blocked

Google App Engine

This thing is pretty cool, although I hate Python. The indentation makes me crazy.

And Notepad++ insisting to use tabs instead of spaces didn't exactly help.

I wish this thing would use Ruby or PHP instead.

Twitter

I got an Twitter account. I prefer Jaiku (where I've had an account for months now), but hey, Twitter seems to be for the cool kids.
